The building dates back over a century and has been carefully restored to a high standard of comfort while keeping everything that made it worth restoring: exposed stone walls, flagstone floors, and a wood-burning stove that comes alive on cooler evenings.

Step outside onto the deck and you are level with the river. Fishing boats pass at eye level. On summer mornings, Lough Derg is glassy calm. The old bridge is a two-minute walk to Ballina and Goosers; Killaloe village, St Flannan's Cathedral, and the Lough Derg Way are a few minutes in the other direction. SilverStone pulls in walkers, kayakers, cyclists, and people who simply want to slow down by the water. There's a full week's worth of things within easy reach - or you can do nothing at all, which is equally good.
